Where can I find your music?
The short answer: it depends what you're looking for! This site is a good place to start.
It's the only place where you will find ALL my recordings and piano books, and I offer some of my choral music exclusively from this site. My "Blue Curry" recording is also available for download on iTunes, mp3.com, rhapsody.com and lala.com.
Due to the large number of choral pieces I've had published, I'm unable to offer them for sale from this site. I do carry information about each choral which I hope will be helpful, but I recommend you purchase them from a print music dealer or you may prefer checking with your local retail music store.
I want a piece of yours that's out of print. Can I make copies?
Many people don't realize that when a piece of mine is published I sign away ownership of that piece, so that permission is not mine to give. You need to request permission from the publisher (not me). Most publishers let you make your request via email. Links to my various publishers' websites are here. Your request should include:
- Your Name
- Name of Company/Organization/School
- Your Contact Information (address, phone & email)
- Song title
- Composer & arranger
- Publisher
- Product number (found on piece)
- The complete copyright information as shown on the first page of the original material about which you are requesting permission.
- Number of copies needed
- Any additional comments necessary to explain the purpose of the request and its intended use.
How/Where do I get permission to record one of your songs?
You will need what is called a "mechanical license" from the song's publisher (again, that's most likely not me). Some publishers handle their licensing and some may refer you to a company like the Harry Fox Agency. The current rate is 9.1 cents per copy made, per song. They will likely want to know:
- Your Name
- Name of Company/Organization/School
- Your Contact Information (address, phone & email)
- Song title
- Composer & arranger
- Publisher
- Product number (found on piece)
- The complete copyright information as shown on the first page of the original material about which you are requesting permission.
- Number of copies being produced

Do you have a jazzy Christmas piano book?
Not yet. It's on my "to do" list. Sorry! You may want to check out Snow Falling on Ivory (Shawnee Press) which has 2 jazz arrangements for piano with optional flute and bass. I think they're a lot of fun.
P.S. I do have a new book releasing in 2010 with Lorenz titled, "Curry for Christmas," but those are not particularly jazzy arrangements.
How do I get my music published?
Some, not all, publishers accept unsolicited manuscripts. You'll need to check their respective websites to learn their policies. They will review your piece and then contact you if they are interested in publishing it.
