Men’s Glee Club 100th Anniversary Home Concert

Twenty years after I was a student and the MGC accompanist, I was back accompanying them for one of my compositions. The MGC performed and recorded this piece not long after I wrote it in the mid-nineties, and there was a whole group of guys in attendance who knew and remembered the piece from their experience with it 10 or so years earlier.

Wheaton College Men’s Glee Club 80th Anniversary Home Concert
This was during my junior year at Wheaton College, playing to the largest crowd of my life at that point in a packed-out Edman Chapel, with more than 2000 people. My hands get sweaty just watching this video; I was so nervous! I can still feel my fingers sliding around on the piano keys.

This was my first father-daughter performance with Ella. (She appears briefly at the bottom of the screen at :47 seconds.) I was happy to accompany the choir for this Normal Jean Luckey arrangement of a Charlie Parker tune.
