I’ve been working my way through Henri Nouwen’s Lenten devotional, a collection of excerpts of his writing titled Show Me the Way. I gain so much from it every year; it really helps me reflect on many different aspects of who Jesus is. I’ll be posting some quotes and prayers from the book in the days to come.
(Show Me the Way, p. 13)
“I am still so divided. I want to follow You, but I also want to follow my own desires and lend an ear to voices that speak about prestige, success, human respect, pleasure, power, and influence. Help me to become deaf to these voices and more attentive to your voice, which calls me to choose the narrow road of life.”
