Product Description
Some have suggested I should have called this one "A Carribean Christmas Carol." It's a happy little anthem that expresses the joy of Christmas with an almost tropical feel. Optional flute and rhythm parts enhance the anthem even more.
Lyrics
"Glory in the highest!" angel voices sing
From the highest heaven,
Hear that chorus ring.
No more a silent night over Bethlehem
"Now is born a Savior," angels said to them.
"Come," then said the shepherds
"Let's go see this thing which the angels spoke of
Making our heart sing."
They ran to find the Child on a bed of straw
Then they bowed before Him
And they knelt in awe.
Oh! Let the heavens ring!
Oh! Hear the angels sing!
Oh! Such good news they tell
Born is Emmanuel!
Join the celebration of the newborn King
Come and raise your voices
Now's the time to sing!
Sing of a holy night of exceeding joy!
Gather round the manger of that baby Boy.
(chorus repeats)
Come and sing the praises of God's love outpoured
Now is born the Savior which is Christ the Lord!

| Background Info: | This song is dedicated to a good friend and choir director that I met at a church music conference in Green Lake, Wisconsin several years ago. She and her husband have been missionaries in Nicaragua for decades, and they invited me to come play for their choir's Christmas concerts at First Baptist of Managua and at the National Theater. I have since traveled there several times and had a wonderful time during each visit. Joan attends the Green Lake Church Music conference annually, and was surprised to learn of this dedication when the piece was sung during a choral reading session there! |
